The YMCA East Surrey’s popular Santa Run will take place this year on Sunday 4 December in Reigate’s beautiful Priory Park.
If you fancy joining the festive melee for a day of fitness and fundraising, there will be a 3-mile Adult race and a 1-mile Family race and medals are presented to every Santa who takes part.
Races will begin at 10:30am with a 3-mile Adult race through the park and on quiet surrounding roads for 16-year-olds and above. This will be followed by the 1-mile ‘Family Run’ at 11:15am, in which parents or grandparents can run with all children over 4 years old to make the day a memorable experience for the whole family.
All adults in the Family run have the option of either registering and receiving a Santa suit and medal or running without a Santa suit at no charge alongside registered youngsters.
Warming refreshments will be available and the first, second and third places in the Adult 3-mile race will receive trophies.
The money raised from the Santa Run will transform the lives of local people through YMCA East Surrey’s charitable services including youth work, counselling, housing, disability playschemes, sport and physical activity. The local charity aims to help people to believe in themselves and achieve their goals by providing services that focus on those who are vulnerable, have a disability or face disadvantage.
Last year, YMCA participants in Challenge events trekked, cycled or ran 10,152 miles to help raise funds. Will you be one of them this year?
If you would like to take part in the Santa Run, entries can book up quickly and it isn’t always possible to sign up on the day, so get in as early as you can to avoid disappointment.
