YMCA East Surrey Boccia Club’s volunteer Amanda Weston has been awarded her leaders certificate!
Amanda has been bringing her son to our Boccia Club for the past couple of years and wanted to learn more about the sport so we booked her a place on a Boccia Leaders course where she learnt the rules of the games, how to lead a session and some basic coaching techniques.
The Boccia Leaders Award is split into three levels – Bronze which comprises of attending the course and the completing 2 hours of leadership experience, Silver needs 7 hrs leadership and Gold which needs 12 hours leadership. Amanda has worked very hard over the past few months and has managed to achieve her Gold Award!
Well done Amanda we look forward to your continued help with the club! Boccia Club sessions run every two weeks during term time and are held on a Saturday at YMCA Sports & Community Centre, Princes Road, Redhill RH1 6JJ. Sessions cost £1.80.
