We’ve put together our Top Tips to help you make your fundraising as successful and fun as possible. All of our events include a link to set up an online JustGiving sponsor form and we recommend this as the easiest way to fundraise. If you prefer to fundraise offline, you can download a sponsor form.
Here are a few ideas that could increase the amount you raise and also make your fundraising lots of fun for everyone involved.
- Tell your fundraising story – once your fundraising page is set up, don’t forget to personalise it. Adding things like a profile photo, a story about what you’re doing and why, and a fundraising target really help.
- Get your friends and family to sponsor you first – they tend to be the most generous and they set the standard for everyone who sees the form after them.
- Share your fundraising link on social media and email your contacts so they can donate online at the click of a button.
- It is always worth approaching your work colleagues, your employer and any local companies you might have links with, for donations.
- You could organise a dress-down day, quiz night, sell cakes or run a sweepstake for a big event.
- If your employer is a member of a matched giving scheme, ask them if they can match the amount you have raised.
- Have a good clearout and sell your unwanted items on eBay, Vinted or a car boot sale and donate the money raised to your sponsorship
