YMCA East Surrey have been commissioned by Surrey County Council to deliver Play and Leisure Short Breaks for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities across East Surrey.
On 6 and 7 August, young people with additional needs took part in a two day hike from Three Bridges along the route 20 and 21 cycle paths to Horley Guide Hut as part of their Duke of Edinburgh award.
During the half term week, 47 different children with disabilities and complex needs attended YMCA East Surrey’s Yippee Playscheme, leading to a total 624 hours of Short Breaks care. Children attending the Playscheme had a wonderful time taking part in Halloween themed activities, including pizza making, pumpkin carving and enjoying a fancy dress Halloween party….
