On Sunday 19 July, we hosted the launch of the Surrey Friendly Boccia League here at the YMCA. What a fantastic event!
Television presenter, weather girl and keen cyclist, Sian Welby gave 30 courageous YMCA cyclists a rousing send off as they prepared to tackle France’s infamous Mont Ventoux.
Today marked the return of YMCA’s Live It! Big Lunch – an event combining a range of physical activities and, of course, lunch for adults with disabilities.
Last weekend a group of 7 young people with disabilities and volunteers travelled to Wales with YMCA OnSide to take on some very technical mountain bike trails in support of their Level 1 and Level 2 Mountain Bike Awards.
16 years and still going strong! It took until the Under 10s race at YMCA East Surrey’s Fun Run for the sun to come out over Reigate’s Priory Park. Once it did, it shone on 9 year old Reigate Priory pupil Seth McDowall, who crossed the line ahead of the pack for an astonishing fourth…
Forty-four adults enjoyed this free event at the YMCA Sports & Community Centre in Redhill on 14 January 2015.
On Monday 15 September we linked up with County Care to deliver a Smash Up session.
On Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 August, eight young people with disabilities took part in a challenging ride over the South Downs.
Thanks to support from YMCA England, the group from OnSide (our inclusive sports project) were able to take ten young people to Fairthorne Manor, an outdoor activity centre in Southampton, as part of a residential trip.
